When to Consider Facial Fat Grafting
Fat grafting has been used for a wide variety of cosmetic purposes. Dr. Rosen may recommend fat grafting for correction of facial wrinkles, folds or contour irregularities – including:- Depressed scars
- Thin or flat lips
- Hollow or gaunt areas of the face
- Laugh Lines or Marionette lines
- Contouring of the jaw, cheeks or temples
During a consultation, Dr. Rosen can determine if fat grafting will meet your goals for cosmetic enhancement. In some cases, he may recommend an alternative wrinkle treatment such as Juvederm or Restylane.
The Procedure: How Fat Grafting Works
Fat grafting first requires liposuction to harvest fat. This can be done on the tummy, thighs, buttocks or elsewhere. Before injection, the fat is purified and prepared. Dr. Rosen then injects the fat into areas specified for soft tissue augmentation. Because grafted fat has a tendency to get reabsorbed by the body, multiple treatments may be necessary. After Fat Grafting in Philadelphia PA
