Juvederm Philadelphia

Juvederm treatment is a product used for the correction of facial wrinkles and folds. Composed of a colorless, Juvederm Philadelphiastabilized hyaluronic acid gel, it acts as a cushioning agent and space-filler in the skin. When injected, Juvederm restores volume to correct wrinkles and folds, especially around the nose and mouth. Hyaluronic acid has been used since the 90s in a variety of medical applications.

Fillers like Juvederm have become the most popular choice for correcting the nasolabial folds – the lines that travel from each side of your nose to your mouth. Juvederm comes in several different formulas to meet each patient’s needs: Ultra, Ultra Plus and Ultra XC. Check out our Specials page as we often offer specials on Juvederm in Bucks County and Philadelphia.

Treatment Applications With Juvederm Injectable Gel

Juvederm is FDA approved to treat moderate to severe facial wrinkles and folds, including these:
  • Nasolabial folds – NLFs
  • Marionette lines
Cosmetic surgeons have also used Juvederm for lip augmentation, lip wrinkles, correction of the hollow tear trough, and facial contouring around the chin, cheeks and temples.

Your Juvederm Procedure

Before injection, the skin surface is cleansed thoroughly with antiseptic. The injection sites are carefully selected and Dr. Rosen injects Juvederm below the dermis using a special technique. Below the skin, Juvederm combines with your naturally occurring hyaluronic acid and binds with water. Dr. Rosen may perform a brief hand massage to make sure the filler is perfectly placed. A dental block or numbing cream can be used to control discomfort during your Juvederm treatment. Ask about the latest Juvederm formula that contains anesthetic for comfort.

What to Expect When Your Juvederm Treatment is Finished

You will see increased volume in the facial tissue and a smoother appearance. The area may feel puffy or full at first, but you will adjust and any minor swelling will subside. During the first 24 hours, you should avoid rigorous activity, sun exposure and alcohol. These activities may cause temporary redness, swelling or itching at the injection sites. If you do experience swelling, you may be advised to use an ice pack on the area.

Alternatives to Juvederm

We also carry Restylane, a comparable filler that has been widely used for similar purposes. For best results, Dr. Rosen may recommend a treatment that combines Juvederm with Botox or Dysport.

Are there Juvederm Side Effects I should know about?

Most side effects with this product are mild or moderate in nature and their duration is typically seven days or less. The most commonly reported effects include redness, tenderness, pain, firmness, swelling, lumps, bruising, itching and discoloration.
